Brief Program Descriptions

The Kindness Campaign

The Kindness Campaign brings elementary and junior high school audiences the message that "It's Cool to be Kind!" This experiential program fosters a culture of dignity and respect by creating common ground among participants, addressing the root causes of meanness, and inspiring youth to come together to make a difference at school, in their communities, and world-wide. We believe that it is in a learning culture of dignity and respect that more students can achieve academic success.

Bullying and Relational Aggression

Our bullying programs focus on the many forms of bullying and on how bullying harms individuals and communities and prevents victims from achieving personal and academic success. The programs move from understanding to action plans, fostering ongoing strategies to prevent bullying in all its forms. Particular attention is paid to the often covert ways in which girls bully, bringing relational aggression and cyber-bullying to the attention of students and staff for examination and adding them to existing bullying prevention programs and policies.

Reviving the Wonder - Transitional Programs

This companion to the Kindness Campaign targets high school audiences. Based on resiliency and asset-building research, the program highlights healthy ways to transition from adolescence to young adulthood. It addresses relationship issues, stewardship and youth-led service learning, mentoring, rites of passage, and coping with the stresses and changes of late adolescence. Reviving the Wonder helps youth embrace even life's most difficult transitions with safety, dignity and curiosity.

Inspiring Leadership

Our "Fostering Leadership, Integrity, Respect and Compassion in Young Leaders" program is for those who want to inspire leadership at the middle school level and beyond. Accompanied by a detailed handbook, the program provides clear strategies for teaching leadership skills, creating leadership classes in school, or developing leadership at camps and retreats. Inspiring Leaderhip is offered either as a one-day retreat or an in-depth training.

Personal & Professional Wellness

Wellness is a much-used term, but how often do we reflect on its meaning and application? How do we define it? What happens to us, and to our quality of life, when we forget to nourish ourselves — both personally and professionally? This workshop allows participants to identify their own personal vision of wellness and develop strategies for a healthier and more fulfilling life. This program is offered both in workshop or multi-day retreat formats.

Youth-led Service

Youth who engage in service and stewardship activities learn at an early age that one person can make a difference. And when like-minded people come together, their changes can be far-reaching. Through their local, national and international initiatives, they gain a global vision, acquire empathy for others and develop leadership and organization skills necessary for their projects and for success in life.

Peace Project

The Peace Project is an invitation for the young and old alike — from all spheres of life — to create peace on all levels. The Peace Project inspires community, fosters a global mind, and creates a road map for powerful, purposeful change.

Empathy Through Literature

The Empathy Through Literature program uses short stories about young people to help develop empathy with others, even when their experiences are very different from our own.
